Brentwood

is a neighborhood in the Westside region of Los Angeles. It lies at the base of the Santa Monica Mountains, bounded by Topanga State Park to the west, Wilshire Boulevard to the south, the 405 freeway to the east and Mulholland Drive to the north. The neighborhood began its modern development in the 1880s. It hosted part of the pentathlon in the 1932 Summer Olympics. Local traditions include the annual decoration of San Vicente Boulevard’s coral trees, which has been named a City of Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument. Its estimated population is 36,290 and an average age of 34 years old.
